Hypothesis-shxrkbait

1.The number of not guilty by reason of insanity pleas are large while the convictions are very minimal

2.Not guilty by reason of insanity is a life sentence that is granted to only 1% of those who submit this plea.

3.Offenders often try to plead not guilty due to reason of insanity in order to be acquitted, however, what they do not realize is that reason of insanity is only granted to 1% of those who submit this plea.

4. Those who carry out school shootings qualify to be declared legally insane in a court trial.

5. Those who carry out school shootings should be declared legally insane during their court trial.

6. Teenagers and young adults who carry out school shootings should be declared legally insane during trial and confined to the walls of mental institutions instead of prison.

Revised Hypothesis

Although not every person who experienced an abusive childhood develops into a serial killer, all serial killers experienced abuse as children

The nature of serial killings is not excusable by the insanity defense, despite the common misconception that all serial killers are insane.

  1. As bold as your topic is overall if it were me I would try to go the extra mile and create more counterinituity. Add something you wouldn’t expect a twist perhaps. Something such as ( I don’t agree with this at all but just to emphasize my point) teachers should be on trial more often in these circumstances for the role they don’t play in saving the child in school shootings. I also appreciate the categorization of facts that you have leading up to your point so thank you for the breakdown. I feel this lays out a nice essay structure.

I’m really interested in where you go with this. It’s a great topic, and definitely something to be considered. I can’t wait to see where you go with this!
