HOW TO POST TO THE BLOG

You’ll probably need a tutorial before you publish your My Hypothesis post. Here goes!

Log in to the Blog

Find the login toward the top of the right-hand sidebar.

Enter Your Username

Provide Your Password

Choose Your Website

The Blog Will Open

Confirm Your Login

Once you’re logged in, the sidebar link will change from Log in to Log out.
You MAY NEED TO REFRESH YOUR SCREEN TO CONFIRM.

Logged in Looks Like This

Notice the Write icon in the upper-right-hand corner.
Notice also your avatar just to the right of the Write icon.

TO START YOUR POST:
Click the Write icon.

Add your Title

For your first post, your Title will be:

Hypothesis—Username

Substitute your own username, of course.

Enter your Text

Don’t Forget to Categorize!

There will always be two categories for your posts.

  1. The name of the assignment (this time located in the Non-Portfolio list)
  2. Your username (found in the Authors FA22 list)

Publish

Once you hit the Publish button (or the Update button if you’re revising your post), you’ll see your post at the top of the blog.

(It might be in the second position from the top if your Professor has pinned something to the top of the blog.)

Notice the Title (Hypothesis—davidbdale).
Notice the Author’s avatar and username below the text.
Notice at the VERY BOTTOM of the post (and tiny) the names of the Categories for the post (in this case davidbdale and Hypothesis).

Finally, notice the tiny Edit link that means the Author can re-open this post to revise it. If you’re looking at someone else’s post, you won’t see the Edit link.
