Core Value 1. My work demonstrates that I used a variety of social and interactive practices that involve recursive stages of exploration, discovery, conceptualization, and development.

For the first core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that I used a variety of social and interactive practices that involve recursive stages of exploration, discovery, conceptualization, and development. Using a scholarly database known as Google Scholar, I was able to explore many different angles of my topic. This allowed me to come up with a hypothesis to begin with. An example of all the research I was able to compile from my sources is my White Paper. With this assignment, I was able to keep going back and finding new sources of information for future papers.

Core Value 2. My work demonstrates that I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities.

For the second core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities. I was able to take the information I gathered from my sources plus my knowledge that I already had and was able to synthesize them into a paper. The best demonstration of this is in my Research Paper. In this paper, I had to take a lot of different ideas from all different sources and synthesize them with my own ideas to write the paper.

Core Value 3. My work demonstrates that I rhetorically analyzed the purpose, audience, and contexts of my own writing and other texts and visual arguments.

For the third core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that I rhetorically analyzed the purpose, audience, and contexts of my own writing and other texts and visual arguments. When first starting this class we were assigned to come up with a topic to write about for the whole semester and I picked the mental health of students. Naturally if I picked students’ mental health, I had to be conscious of who I was writing to. With that being said, I feel that my Causal Argument demonstrates this the best. In this argument I was able to connect with my reader because poor mental health in students is a problem that most people go through.

Core Value 4: My work demonstrates that I have met the expectations of academic writing by locating, evaluating, and incorporating illustrations and evidence to support my own ideas and interpretations.

For the fourth core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that I have met the expectations of academic writing by locating, evaluating, and incorporating illustrations and evidence to support my own ideas and interpretations. This core value almost fully describes the Visual Rhetoric assignment. In this assignment, we were tasked with breaking down an ad campaign. This included providing a time stamp for each shot in the ad and breaking it down piece by piece. The shots in the ad supported what I was writing about each frame.

Core Value 5. My work demonstrates that I respect my ethical responsibility to represent complex ideas fairly and to the sources of my information with appropriate citation.

For the fifth core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that I respect my ethical responsibility to represent complex ideas fairly and to the sources of my information with appropriate citation. It is very important to properly credit your sources in your papers otherwise you can end up in a load of trouble. Although I properly credited my sources in all my papers, I believe my Definition Argument did it the best. In this argument I was able to give credit to all the sources that I used in my paper in the right and effective way.

    Hmmmm.
These are all pretty completely boilerplate responses.
#2 is the best example of repeating the question and then repeating the question twice more.

For the second core value, my work in Professor Hodges’ class demonstrates that 1) I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities. I was able to 2) take the information I gathered from my sources plus my knowledge that I already had and was able to synthesize them into a paper. The best demonstration of this is in my Research Paper. In this paper, I had to 3) take a lot of different ideas from all different sources and synthesize them with my own ideas to write the paper.
