When you pour the scotch out of the bottle, the cup you pour it into becomes the new “bottle” a bottle doesn’t necessarily mean it’s original container, but maybe the vessel it’s contained in?
There is no such thing as an empty bottle of scotch because there are always full bottles of scotch regardless.
because a bottle is truly never empty
In the literal sense, there is no such thing as an empty bottle of scotch because there will always be just a little bit of residue left, no matter how small. In the figurative sense, maybe it’s not a bottle of scotch. Maybe the bottle of scotch is a metaphor for an escape. Some drink to get away or to forget, and for others, this escape could be video games, going to the gym, or indulging in some scotch. This escape can be limitless. ANSWER: When it is empty, it is a scotch bottle, but it is no longer a bottle of scotch.
The riddle made me realize that sometimes I just need to really sit and think before I answer because the answer is often simple rather than complicated.
With that bottle of scotch or with any bottle there is always something left in the bottle. If you drink it or hold the bottle up side down there will always be something left. No one ever lets a bottle sit up side down for awhile so every thing drains.
No, that’s not the answer at all, soulpond. Were you in class SEP 08? The answer is that once a bottle of Scotch is empty, it’s no longer “a bottle of Scotch” because, by definition, a “bottle of Scotch” has to have some Scotch in it.
The riddle reveals that there is really no such thing as an empty bottle of scotch. Because there will always be residue left behind a bottle of scotch can never truly be empty, this also means wherever scotch is poured or consumed can never be empty neither. To be a bottle doesn’t mean it has to be an original container but rather a storing vessel.

There is no such thing as bottle of scotch as their will always be something left or maybe the bottle of scotch is metaphor for an escape and as a fact the bottle is truly never empty.
