Citation – Oni

In Richard Davies’ article, “The Fiction That Makes the World Go Round,” he discusses the idea of how strange money actually is. Without the confidence surrounding money, it’s just a piece of paper that promises us it’s value. His review of Jacob Goldstein’s book Money: The True Story of a Made-Up Thing, brings up that money is almost a thing of fiction. The idea of our currency is held by the shared belief that it has value, it’s a completely social thing. As time goes on we move passed the amount the paper actually hold, and the government is able to decide its value
