In Vancouver, heroin addicts commit crime to support their habits. The “free heroin for addicts” program, is a program in Vancouver trying to stop the heroin addiction; the only problem is the large crime rate is caused by addicts. Addicts in the program or not have a hard time with relationships, keeping a job, and everyday interactions. With this program “free heroin” though it does not ween addicts off heroin, but feeds their addiction. This does prevent minor crimes from occurring more regularly as well as prevents unclean drugs and overdoses more unlikely. Problem is, although this helps fix the crime rate problem you are leaving people left with addiction instead of helping them overcome their addiction.
