0:01 – The scene starts abruptly with a cloud of smoke or vapor emitting from a young mans mouth. He is seen rolling up some sort of yoga mat, farther in the background there seems to be a rolled up sleeping bag and a larger duffle bag. It could be inferred that the young man is packing up for some sort of camping trip.

0:02 – In the next clip another young man is shown zipping up a duffle bag. In the same second that same young man is shown walking down stairs with his bags as a large cloud of smoke or vapor emits from his mouth, similarly to the intro scene. It is still unclear what exactly these young men are smoking since only the exhaling of the smoke or vapor is shown. Although, looking more closely at the young mans face, it could be inferred that the man is high due to his relaxed facial expression and squinty eyes.

0:03 – The next clip starts with yet another abrupt cloud of smoke emitting from a young woman’s mouth as she is seen in an open doorway. She then turns and walks outside.

0:05 – In the next clip the young man previously shown walking down the stairs greets the young woman at his door. Since the young man greets her with a smile it could be inferred that they are friends. The young man then picks up his bags and heads outside with the young woman.

0:07 – The duffle bag that young man was holding is then shown being thrown in the back of a small SUV full of supplies for some sort of trip. A cooler, blanket, and foldable chair can be seen under the duffle bag so a camping trip does seem likely.

0:08 – The two young men, previously shown separately, are now seen together loading their bags into the same SUV. Although all of the characters relations were previously unclear, it seems evident that they are a small group of friends that are preparing for some sort of camping trip.

0:09 – Another young woman is shown standing outside as a cloud of smoke or vapor emits from her mouth. The SUV the young men were loading their bags into can be seen in the background. As she walks the other young woman can be seen in the forefront, clearly she is also part of the group.

0:10 – We are now shown the trunk of the SUV as the young man closes it. We then see everyone loaded into the car, although no one seemed to enter driver’s seat. In the next clip we can now see from inside the car that no one got into the driver’s seat. The two young women and one of the young men can be seen tightly packed in the back seat.

The young man in the passenger’s seat seems to have a look of concern on his face while one of the young women is laughing and the other is seemingly puzzled. It could be inferred that one of them is supposed to be in the driver’s seat at this very moment. As the young man in the front turns towards each person in the back we can see that everyone is pointing at each other in disagreement. This is occurring all while they are each glancing in the direction of the driver’s seat, implying that is what the discussion is about.

Everyone in the car seems to be a bit dumbfounded by the situation that is occurring, some have a bit of a smirk on their faces while the others seems a bit clueless and concerned. In the next few seconds we then see that everyone has a smile on their faces as they all get out of the car.

0:24 – After seemingly opting out of going on the trip due to the fact they had no driver we then see young man opening the trunk of the SUV as everyone else is smiling from ear to ear. As the trunk is opened each person seems to point at an object in the car as if getting ready to unload everything.

0:27 – Everyone is then pictured outside of the car with all of their gear unpacked and set up. Judging by the large blanket splayed out, all of the foldable chairs, and all of the thermoses it is very clear that they were going to be camping. The message “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different” is then displayed across the screen in large white lettering as the young men give each other a high five.

This short advertisement against drug-impaired driving is very casual when compared to many other similar advertisements I’ve seen. The situation that was depicted is very practical and anyone could find themselves in similar circumstances. No one communicated who was going to be the designated driver and everyone had smoked or vaped prior to embarking on the trip. Usually in this situation someone probably would have tried to enter the driver’s seat which is what makes this approach interesting. The fact that every person in the group knew they couldn’t drive implies that the average person would use their best judgement when put in a similar situation. Although, the message “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different” alone is very impactful since there is no denying the fact that you feel “different” when impaired. Since this approach is so casual though I don’t believe that it could have that great of an impact on people faced with drug-impaired driving. Adversely, this could allow it to be more easily digestible to a larger audience since it isn’t so aggressive or depressing like many other ads against drug-impaired or drunk driving.
