Vancouver has an immense amount of heroin addicts committing murder and other horrific crimes to support their habits. The “free heroin for addicts” program was created to stop addicts from harming the community by giving heroin users access to clean surges and heroin dosages at the hospital. The people who face drug addiction have a hard time doing everyday tasks, keeping jobs, and relationships with people due to the fact that they are using and will do anything to get drugs. Addicts have no limits to retrieving drugs that feed their addictions resulting in unlawful actions such as breaking into banks, assaulting people on the streets, and even stealing. The program’s goal is to get rid of violence in the city by giving drug addicts free access to heroin. Hospitals have to deal with these addicts by giving out sanitary needles and clean heroin to help users get drugs in their system to help these people cope with their addictions in a safer way. Vancouver is providing heroin, eliminating addicts off the streets, which in turn will prevent them from committing minor street crimes and landing in the hospital from sharing unsanitary needles.
