In Richard Davies New York Times article, “The Fiction that Makes the World Go Round,” he is reviewing the book: Money The True Story of a Made Up Thing, by Jacob Goldstein. Davies opens up about money and currency and mentions money to be a “nation bedrock,” and a “confidence trick.” People see money to be essential, when almost anything can be made currency. In Jacob Goldstein’s, Money The True Story of a Made Up Thing, he mentions, “Money seems cold and mathematical and outside the realm of fuzzy human relationships.” Goldstein also arises the idea that money is a “made-up thing,” and “a shared fiction.” Davies and Goldstein share the same ideas and believe money to be a manipulation of the mind.
