D) From an industrial spokesperson position this claim has support to it.The technology is out there and you can buy it if you choose to. It is perfectly reasonable to say that Black and Decker doesn’t have the technology so if you want it go somewhere else.

D) People are still getting hurt by table saws with the current safety precautions. This is clearly showing the need for the saw stop technology which they continue to say can reduce injuries.
5) Injured Plaintiffs
A) A man who was cut by a miter saw says Robert Bosch Tool Corp. “colluded with its competitors” and lobbied the Consumer Protection Safety Commission to keep “flesh detection and braking technology” from being required on table saws.
B) This claim insists that the Bosch Tool Corp. and other companies tried to convince the Consumer protection safety Commission to keep the saw stop technology from being required.

D) The man making this claim is making a large accusation against the manufacturers saying that they all conspired for their own benefit over the safety of their consumers. While his claim is believable and logical he doesn’t have factual proof of it which just leaves this as a casual claim. While hes claim is logical and reasonable he could have easily bought a safer saw but ow he is arguing the companies.

A) The Schmidt Firm claims “Every year, there are over 40,000 table saw injuries, resulting in more than 4,000 amputations.”
B) 40,000 table saw injuries occur every year resulting in more than 4,000 amputations.

D) This claim is solid and believable yet has no specific source making it unreliable. It could be real or not but we cant be sure.
7) Government Officials.
A) Last year, I called on the table saw industry to address this hazard through the voluntary standards process and work to prevent the needless injuries that occur each and every day.
B) The official tried to get the saw industry to fix the safety issues they are having.
C) Casual
D) The claim shows his effort to change the saw industry by stressing injuries that are occurring everyday. These injuries are true and the safety of these saws needs to change.
8) News Reporters
A) No offense, but I don’t think this is a move by Bosch (or any other tool manufacturer for that matter) to prevent safety devices, but simply a move to prevent the unintended consequences of adding mandatory safety devices that would, in some instances, double the price of entry-level power saws.
B) He is saying that companies don’t oppose the saw stop technology but they rather don’t want their prices and manufacturing costs to go up if it becomes required.
C) Casual claim
D) The writers claim is more of an opinion that has no sound backing but is believable. It is a solid reason for companies to oppose adopting the technology. Most companies aren’t just against safety.
