Everyone always wants to help third world countries become developed. There are hundreds of programs that are available to make us feel like we are making a difference. The actual question is; are we really helping these countries? There are countless companies and organizations that are naive and ignorant towards the actual needs of the people living in these third world countries. With other groups that  are helping countries economically instead of giving unco

mmon product that cannot help the country become more developed.  This will examine what kind of ‘giving’ is better for the development of third world countries.

Do Toms Really Help People

Background: The concept of Toms is every shoe that is bought another will be donated to a child in a third world country that is in need of shoes. Although in some countries Toms are not helping when needed.  The reasons Toms are donated are for children to be able to go to school but the shoes are only distributed in schools in which children already have shoes to wear.  Other companies like Warby Parker and Two Degrees Foods work with the community to produce the needs of the community. This is expressed as the smarter and more innovative way to help the people instead of donating unneeded products. Nonetheless the philanthropy that the business are doing is honorable it cannot be determined if the buy-one-give-one method is helpful to the third world countries.

Intended Use:  This article will help me begin to explain the different ways to help third worlds countries. This will also explain why it is not always good to donate certain materials and goods to other countries.

TOMS: A Discussion on Bad Aid

Background: This article claims that TOMS giving policy is not as helpful as it seems. Also the bad aid companies are assessing the symptoms instead of solving the problem.  The blog continues to explain that third world countries becoming dependent on first world countries are detrimental to their development as a country. The companies that are providing bad aid are spending more money spending -unnecessary goods instead of helping cultivate the natural resources that are already provided in those countries.

Intended Use:  This will be helpful to my argument because I will be able to introduce what “bad aid” is. Also this will help the article have more solid facts about health and dependency issues that come with bad aid.

Background: This article researches the worst bad aid ideas created to help people in third world countries.  These were aids that were either ill-advised or not researched.  The donors came off ignorant and uniformed.

Intended Use: Having this article will give me examples for apart of my argument helping by giving more examples of bad aid. Helping me continue to my part of good aid.

Background: The article will help me examine the difference that the good aid charities have done.  The different charities that are shown in this blog show how the resources in the third world countries are used. Using teachings and the native people these companies help the countries become less dependent of any foreign aid.

Background: In these articles and videos Bill Nye and Bill Gates explain the incorrect foreign aid that is given to third world countries. These video and articles help dispel those myths of good and bad aid. Its helps explain how the amount of money that was used to carry out the bad aid is not helping the actual country. It continues to speak more about the problems that having bad aids are increasing the problems in the countries that need the most help.

Intended Use: I would use this article to explain my opinion on both good and bad aid. Also this will make my paper more credible because I will be able to use the statistic and researched data.
