Professor Hodges’ coffee maker is being weird. There was hair in his coffee. I’m almost positive we have the same coffee maker so when I get back to my dorm, I’m going to check and see that mine still works

    Today I learned to never trust Professor Hodges with the fate of my life by just using a coin because most likely I won’t get to achieve one of my life goals of going to a Beyonce concert and touching her hand

    Professor Hodges explained to us his definition of what the difference between sex and gender is. He didn’t agree with everyone else, but it’s cool though

      I have yet to find anyone who agrees with me, and the entire culture is getting harder to talk to. Everybody wants to use the term gender now to mean the gender I “identify as,” leaving sex to mean “the status of my biological equipment,” but that’s just people trying to be politically correct. We can easily use “biological gender” and “psychological gender” to save that distinction. Sex is still an act, not a description of a person.

    Male dogs over female dogs. The possibility for a beagle to be born male is slightly higher than the chances to be born a female

    I wonder if Professor Hodges hair is naturally parted down the middle or does he do his hair every morning because i consider it to be unnaturally neat

    So I missed my meeting today with Professor Hodges accidentally. It totally slipped my mind. I blame this moody weather and I need to reschedule. By the way if you’re reading this professor hodges I’m sorry for missing our meeting.

    Sitting at school at 5:00 pm again wondering if Amanda will be coming to the conference she scheduled. I’m more than a little bit worried about the amount of work she still has to do for this course. Certainly wish she would find the time for a conversation with me. If you’re reading this, Amanda, please let Amanda know I’m concerned about her.

        When the material opens in Edit, you can change the text, add material, move parts around, make boldface or italics, add your hyperlinks for sources, anything you want to really, then click the Update button (where the Publish button used to be).

        WordPress will save both the old and new versions. Only the new one will be visible on the blog, but I can show you how to retrieve the old one, even compare the old and new side by side.

        OK? Please ask back if you don’t understand this. It’s very late in the semester for you not to have figured this out yet.

    Quick question. Can feminism be a counterintuitive topic? As in how it’s portrayed in the media and what it actually is? MOre specifically, this is what we think feminism is but this is how it really is?

      Anything can be a counterintuitive “topic,” Amanda. And the most counterintuitive way to think about any topic is to ask yourself that very question: what is the difference between what this appears to be and what it actually is?

        so for my causal argument, I plan on arguing that celebrities to be specific are not only oversimplifying the meaning of feminism but they are over-sexualizing it too which ads to the misinterpretation of what feminism. Am I allowed to do that or is it a good idea to do this?

        That sounds like a reasonable Causal hypothesis, Amanda. As for whether it’s a good idea or not, anything you can pull together in 24 hours is a good idea at this point. I’m not clear on what it means to “misinterpret” feminism, but misinterpretation as an argument is a good tactic for a counterintuitivity discussion. Feminism started out as a rejection of female objectification, so it would be counterintuitive for Neo-feminists to “over-sexualize” as you say, or to objectify themselves as a statement of female power. Maybe that’s what you mean. Good luck. 🙂

        Actually question: How would I explain how the sexualization of feminism leads to a skwed view of feminism. I wanted to use a couple of articles that explain how women in media are oversexualizing themselves to prove a point?
