When I first saw the Bush to Obama morph I only viewed it on a visceral level because I lack a lot of political knowledge. I know the good and bad of each leader and that is about it. After looking at the picture for a little while, I determined that the creator of the image in my opinion is showing that the two leaders are the same. The changing of the Bush to Obama shows the change in people, but also that they are alike. The irony in this is that one is a conservative democrat and the other is a liberal republican. Bush has gained a negative connotation to his term in office, but Obama has not done anything to drastically different to improve the country either.

The change in background color to me has no deeper meaning. The proposed idea that it changes from darker to lighter shows a change from bad to good can not be proved at all. The backgrounds could have been altered, and If they are the official government database pictures they could have just chose to use a different background to highlight each president better. After seeing the two added pictures on the blog, I have to side with the second picture. If the creator of this image wanted to emphasize the difference in presidents, a lot more could have been done to show that.
