In the article The Fiction That Makes the World Go Round by Richard Davies, he reviews the book “Money: The True Story Of A Made Up Thing” by Jacob Goldstein in which he explains that currency is partly a social compact which has the power to drain confidence. He then continues to explain that money seems ” cold and mathematical” and ” unalterably social” which supports author Jacob Goldstein’s belief that money is a made up thing which is composed of cheap materials of paper, given certain value throughout the years which causes people to develop psychological damage when situations like the caos of 2008 occur.
